Who is GAUDI?
GAUDI has selected the tracklist of Everlasting, the new chill-out compilation of Iboga Records.
Recently, I started to introduce Gaudi and you can read the post —> there.
Gaudi created the next album Continuum in 2005 in collaboration with Antonio Testa, a percussionist and sound-therapist.
2006 was kicked off by a great collaborative album between Gaudi and legendary ambient music producer Pete Namlook.
Their album Re:sonate combines Pete’s trademark lenghtly meandering structures and spacey pads with Gaudi’s dub vibes and unique home-grown sounds, producing an end result that is both very Namlook and definitely Gaudi at the same time.
It was recorded at Klanglabor Hoseshof (Germany) in november 2005 and released in january 2006.
In 2006, Gaudi released the compilation Sub Signals Volume 1.

EVERLASTING NIGHT: Who is Gaudi? #1
On february 4th, Iboga Records will present the new set of Gaudi on the streams.
Iboga Records is one of the finest psytrance and chill-out label. We started our partnership about a couple years ago and this year 2012 begins with the promotion of the compilation Everlasting.
We decided to broadcast the set between the release’s dates of the CD and the digital MP3.
This new chill-out compilation has been selected by the artist Daniele Gaudi.
Last week, during my stop-over in Hong Kong, I went to Saikosounds.com one of the webshop devoted to the psytrance and ambient scene. I know Rob, the owner of this website, for quite a long time now. He was a great help when we started Psychedelik.com because he always welcomes me and let me sneek around to check new music and get CDs for the listeners of the webradio at an affordable price.
This time, I was looking for Gaudi’s music because I wanted to broadcast some tracks during the Everlasting Night as well as Gaudi‘s set and Yuman‘s set. We know that most of you listen to the ambient’s stream and after the great show that we had in december 2011 with Captain Hook, I really wanted to work on a chill-out show.
Emok from Iboga Records gave us the opportunity to bring you this show and I have to tell you that it’s a real pleasure to work with this label.
This morning, I’m listening to an old release of Gaudi called Bass, Sweat & Tears.
This CD was release in 2004 by Interchill Records.
« It is inspired by native cultures from around the world and takes the listener on a journey from Burkina Faso in Africa to Iran, Pakistan and Northern India, from Papua New Guinea and the Amazon rain forest to Italy and Spain. »
So this is it!
Daniele Gaudi is a musician who tours around the world. An open-minded composer and producer.
His music is a fusion of dub, world and electronica.
He started his professional career in 1981. He was 18 years old.
Gaudi has spent the beginning of his musical life in Italy (from 1981 to 1995), then he moved to London where he still lives now.
In 2000, he spent some time in Burkina Faso (Africa) and the roots of Bass, Sweat & Tears come from there.
… and the Earth said: oh my God!
Are we really broadcasting Gaudi on Psychedelik.com?
We might be lucky
and so are you!
Yes, you, the readers and listeners of our small community.
These are the 2 reasons why we keep maintaning Psychedelik.com alive.
Of course, because you’re listening for 10 years now.
And because we love the musicians and the labels that release them.
Our discovery of Gaudi begins now…
I need to catch him before he goes on tour in Australia tomorrow.
Feel free to ask him some questions, this blog is yours…
(In the next post, we’ll jump from 2004 to 2006 with the release Sub Signals – Volume 1).
